Members of the public may contact the HCPS Board at any time by emailing schoolboard@henrico.k12.va.us.

Members of the public may also submit written comments for Board Meetings via this link online form. The form will open for submission when the meeting agenda is posted on the Friday before the School Board meeting. Meeting agendas can be viewed on Diligent Community. Written comments must be received by noon on the day before the meeting.

The rules that apply to public comment at Board meetings also apply to written comments submitted for Board meetings. This includes but is not limited to:

    • Stakeholders must provide their name and HCPS school affiliation, if applicable.
    • Stakeholders shall use commonly accepted rules of courtesy, respect, civility, and decorum.
    • The use of obscenity or defamation is strictly prohibited and shall be ruled out of order.

Written comments submitted in accordance with the above requirements will be published as part of the meeting record. However, all written comments are subject to FOIA. Stakeholders should take this into consideration when considering including sensitive information about specific students or individuals in their comments.

    Address the Board in person

The signup form will be available the Friday before each monthly School Board meeting and speakers must sign up by 4:30 p.m. on the day before the monthly meeting.

There will be a public forum during the monthly meeting for interested citizens to address the Board in person on any matter of concern about the school division. Citizens are required to sign up in advance using an online form or by calling the clerk by 4:30 p.m. the day before the monthly meeting. Speakers who sign up in advance may not transfer their speaking spot to another individual. To ensure that the School Board has an opportunity to hear from as many constituents as possible, it is requested that only one member of each household reserve a spot to speak. Individuals providing public comment on behalf of a group may speak and then provide the Board with hard copies of written comments from each member of their group. Each speaker will be limited to three minutes.
