High Schools and Advanced Career Education Centers
High school is the final phase of a student’s journey from pre-K through 12th grade. Each year of a student’s academic experience builds upon the last, shaping their educational foundation and helping them develop "durable skills" like character, communication, citizenship, collaboration, and creative and critical thinking. These kinds of skills are essential for life beyond graduation. HCPS' Department of High School Education is pivotal in ensuring that this culminating experience prepares every student to be life-ready.
The department supports student success by overseeing programs, services and resources that promote academic achievement, personal growth, and college- and career-readiness.
